| Bio : | The members of The Sons of Harmony make their home in Baltimore,MD The group was formed in the summer of 1999 while in drug and alcohol rehabilitation. They quickly became known for their a' capella singing wherever they performed and have been considered a throwback to "old gospel" when it comes to their singing style. Having recently signed with the Moiko Record Label, their upcoming album release "Prayer Changes Things" features several songs written by members of the group. Coming up on 11 years of singing the gospel, some of the original members have moved on, and the group has at times found themselves at a crossroad, and struggled to maintain their togetherness, and sound that they have come to be recognized for by their listening audience. They have performed on stage with The Gospel Keynotes, the Fantastic Violinaires, Little David & The Bells of Joy just to name a few. They have been recipients of the 2007 Fred Newsome Award for “Best a’cappella Group of the Year" 2nd Place Winners 2009 Security Square Mall "Choir & Quartet Competition" in Baltimore, MD 2009 Nominees at the Independent Music Song Award 2010 Black Essence Music Award Winners They have also been recognized by the Cambridge Honor Society, for their inspiring story of perseverance in the face of adversity and the vision for their ministry in the future.They continue to perform for senior citizen residences and are committed advocates for substance abuse and homelessness in their community,charity organizations as well as seeking to expanding into prison ministry. In a decade, The Sons of Harmony have completely transformed their lives. And being ever mindful of good stewardship, they realize that their ministry of song came through many trials from which they were delivered in order that they might be living testimonies for others to see. That others may know and believe that God is able. And through their music they pray to bring hope, peace, comfort and reconciliation to those whose lives have been shattered in a unforgiving world. Amen. The members of the group include Deacon Judson Kerr, Minister Phil Morgan, Deacon Wendell Muldrow, Randy “Country Boy” Hall former member of the Five Blind Boys of Mississippi and their Manager Bro. Delroy Smith. Special thanks to all former members of the group Bro.
